An Open Letter to Hong Kong Parents
Saturday, August 17, 2013
My tremendous father, William Mernin, dreamt that I would one day found a school.
He saw me buying land in Central Pennsylvania, USA. He saw me employing my brothers to teach. He imagined that I would build a school that would serve others while staying true to our values and ideals. He imagined that we would stick together as a family through our shared passion for teaching. I was 22 years old when he first told me about his dream. Alas, it never materialized.
Still for years, I have waited for the perfect opportunity to startup a premier-class learning service that makes best use of educational technology and my growing professional network of international school educators.
That time is now.
The brand new website, Gobelearning.com is the result of six months of collaboration, research, mentorship and much trial and error. My friends, Jesse Myers, Janet Abercrombie, Joseph Winston and I have patterned GobeLearning.com after an already proven business model to connect master international schoolteachers with worthy and trusted clientage in Hong Kong.
We all are essentially in the business of serving families. We simplify the complex process of finding a qualified, master tutor. Together, we aim to influence what learning looks like for the very near future. This thrills me no end.
I do not want to take up more of your time. However, if you could please review our website, I would be most appreciative. Also, if you feel that ours is a sensational idea, feel free to share this site with your friends.
It is our intention to rely strictly upon word of mouth as we begin.
Any suggestions comments or questions, please feel free to reply.
Have a terrific school year. Please, wish us luck as we grow.
Let the learning begin with Gobelearning.com
Mr. Barry J. Mernin
PS. Today is my father’s 76 birthday. I know that he is proud.
